Product details
Everything your water supply carries in — sand from the borewell, silt after the monsoon, rust flakes off old municipal pipes — ends up settling on the floor of your overhead tank. From there it works its way into every tap, geyser and washing machine in the house.
This bag ties onto the inlet pipe inside the tank, so the sediment is caught at the point where the water arrives rather than cleaned up afterwards.
How it works
The slotted cap clamps around the inlet pipe and the fabric bag hangs below it inside the tank. Water passes through the 5 micron non-woven fabric; sand, silt, mud and rust particles do not. When the fabric turns visibly brown, untie it, rinse the sediment out, let it dry and put it back.
What it does not do
This is a sediment filter, not a purifier. It removes suspended solids. It does not remove bacteria, viruses or dissolved chemicals, and it does not make water safe to drink on its own — you still need an RO or UV purifier for drinking water. We would rather say that here than have you find out later.

How to use it
- 1Shut off the inlet valve and open the filter housing.
- 2Remove the old cartridge or bag and rinse out any settled sediment.
- 3Slide the filter bag in so it lines the housing wall, opening at the top.
- 4Close the housing, open the valve and let it run for a minute.
- 5When flow slows, take the bag out, rinse it clean and put it back.

It's made for standard 20-inch Big Blue overhead-tank housings (20" × 4"). Check your housing size before ordering.
How often do I clean it?
Depends on your water. When flow slows or you see loaded sediment, rinse it out and reput it. Most users clean it every few weeks.
Does it purify water for drinking?
It's a sediment (physical) filter - it removes sand, silt, rust and dirt particles. It is not a substitute for an RO/UV purifier for drinking water.
